I am a ecotopian futurist who works to develop a positive vision of a sustainable future, and to translate that vision into action. I live on Vancouver Island.
I am founder of the BC Sustainable Energy Association, co-founder of the Victoria Car Share Cooperative, and the author or co-author of ten books, including After the Crash: The Emergence of the Rainbow Economy (1986) The Climate Challenge: 101 Solutions to Global Warming (2009) and Journey to the Future: A Better World Is Possible (2015). I am currently at work on a new book provisionally titled The Economics of Kindness: Fifty Ways to Build a New Cooperative Economy.
I am an Honorary Member of the Planning Institute of BC, a Fellow of the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland, and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts.
